I had never heard of these kats before, they hail from Mobile Alabama. This is their only cd that I know of, this group consists of 2 people Bigg Boss and D-Loc, this album was produced by Jey J. The first cut is called "Comin Sick" and its a really solid track, it has a bumpin ass beat and some gangsta ass vocals. One of these kats sounds like a deep voiced Pimp C....he aint kickin pimp shit though, just that straight gangsta shit. "Bread Breakers" follows this and its another winner, they drop some really solid vocals on this track and the beat is nice and solid, I really dont see any weaknesses in this track here.
"Hot Lead" has a somewhat weak beat, it aint too bad just kinda annoying and the vocals really aint all that, its nothing I would be bumpin out to. "Late Night DM" has a great beat, its nice and laid back even kinda erie.....the vocals are soo tight, full of that straight gangsta shit, its really laid back shit---reminds me of that old old gangsta style shit that I have been missing for soo long. "Influenced" is another laid back track talking bout the influence the older peeps have on the younger kats.....its a nice lil track but nothing off the hoook. "Check My World" is track 6 and its a dope track, nice smooth beat with tight vocals. "5-0 Snitch Killer" is a very tight track wit a bumpin ass beat, the beat has a bumpin ass bass line and the lyrics on this track are really tight.
"PHN" is coming up next and and its a tight ass track, its talkin bout all the playa hataz that are everywhere nowadays...they talkin bout taking care of all these hoes, its a really dope track that everyone would bump----very smooth lyrics and beat. "Pounds and Birds" is track 9 and its dope as fuck, I have been steady bumpin this track since I got this junt a while back, the beat is off the map and so are the vocals, these 2 kats come tighter then tight on this junt here.
"Heat" is another gangsta ass track, I am impressed so far...these guys aint made no silly ass dance tracks or any bullshit like that, just that straight gangsta shit and the beats are all straight as fuck for the most part.....anyways this is another tight lil track that you can bump out to. "Always Something" is a decent song, its something you could maybe listen to from time to time....nothing is whack bout it but nothing really stands out on it either...It has a West Coast style beat to it which is nice to hear on a southern album from time to time. "Fo Real" comes in at track 12, and its a tight lil track, it has some really solid lyrics and a nice beat to it.....really impressive track especially on the beat tip because they add stuff to the beat throughout the song.
Track 13 is called "Southern Just Us" and its bout all the justice that is fucked up down in the south.....It is a straight lil track but nothing all that. "U Aint Know" is a dope ass track, Hitman is featured on this track and he comes tight as hell with a gangsta ass verse and the beat on this track is clean as hell....very solid track that everyone can get down wit. "St. Stephens" is the last track on this solid album...it has a smooth laid back beat and some great vocals, I really love this track here, you really cant help but to like it cuz there is nothing to hate bout it---just a solid ass track.
Overall I was suprized off my ass at this album. The main reason is because I never hear anyone from Bama talkin bout these cats and this album is from 99 so you know people musta heard it by now. Anyways these guys come tight on the mic and very solid on the production tip, there is no dance tracks and no interludes or skits, just that straight gangsta shit for 15 straight tracks....Pick this up yall and support this Mobile Alabama group so that we can hear more from em in the future.
