The Criminalz album is finally here, and a lot have been anticipating it as well as me. Supposedly there was some controversy about Jayo being considered part of the group and he was upset about being on the cover. He was taken off on the final version of the cover and just added as a guest spot even though he was basically part of the group cause he appeared on 8 of 12 songs on this album. This album features Tray Dee of tha Eastsidaz, Bun B of UGK, Yukmouth, and Silk-E.
1. “Lockdown (Intro)” basic intro about lockdown nothing special (1:01)
2. “Criminal Activity” has a nice mellow old school type Cali beat. This track is a celly cel solo and they made his voice sound funny with some kind of effect put to it sort of like an interlude. (1:43)
3. “Ridaz” has a tight ass beat with some orchestra type shit going on some good shit on this beat. The chorus samples a 2 Pac line “I Wont Deny It Im A Straight Rider” and Jayo, Celly, spice all come super tight on this track good way to start the album out. (4:16)
4. “Puttin In Work” has a nice mellow old kick back style beat with some tight effects going on in the background. This track has a tight chorus and Jayo, celly, and spice come heated with another tight song. (4:31)
5. “Niggaz Like Us” manne this song right chea gots nice beat im really feeling the beat on this one. This song features Bun B of UGK and he comes tight on this track. The chorus on this track is basic as fuck but they twist it real nice and the beat being tight helps another tight track. (4:34)
6. “My Life” this has a real slow beat some struggle type shit on this one. The hook on this one is sung by a girl named Joi Patrice and they all come tight on this track with some good laid back struggle type shit im felling this track. (4:23)
7. “Boss Up” has a real nice beat with some orchestra type shit once again and spice 1 comes in first and rips shit up nice. This track features Tray Dee and Yukmouth and TD sounds kind of out of place to me on this track its not really the type of track I would think to hear him on but Yukmouth comes nice on this one as usual. (4:26)
8. “Doin It Big” has a more club type beat with a lil piano twisted into it in the background. The hook on this track is sung by some guy named JR and its some Nate Dogg type singing and this song also features Silk-E and she comes in with a short verse but comes nice a good track for the clubs, sounds like it could pass for the single. (4:22)
9. “The Real World” has some laid back type shit on this one with a lil piano it again not the best beat on this album but a tight one. I think this is one of the tracks on the album that is just aight, nothing super tight right chea. (4:07)
10. “Reminisce” has one of those slow my homies dead and gone type beats. On this track they basically just rapping bout lost homies and shit. They all come tight on this track for sure and JR sings some more Nate Dogg type shit on the hook tight song about the dead and gone and locked up homies. (4:49)
11. “What They Hittin Fo” this beat has some real good pimp type vibe shit, im really liking this beat too tight shit right chea once again. This is one of one of my more favorite tracks on the album this reminds me of older Cali shit this is a tight track im feeling it. (4:23)
12. “Rollin Wit My Folks” this beat is has a smoke and roll type beat. This is the last track on the album and its just spice 1 and celly finishing it off and they come tight to end the album off with some kick back and roll with my folks shit just like the title says. (3:14)
This album came out very tight the only problem I had with it is that it only had 12 fucking tracks? Its really only 10 since the first track is the intro and the second is basically a interlude. So basically out of 10 tracks I was felling 9 for sure that I could bump. The beats on this album were tight it reminds me of old Cali shit on a few. Jayo, Spice 1, & Celly Cel are all somewhat consider west coast vets so you have to be a fan of at least one of em. I would say pick this album when it comes out cause for sure this shit is pretty damn tight at a first listen I thought it was aight but after bumping it this shit is pretty tight just lack of songs so pick this shit up.
