Warren G is back with his fourth album Return Of The Regulator 2002. Warren G has made many hit songs throughout the 90’s and produced many hits as well. The album features Toi, Nate Dogg, Mista Grimm, Soopafly, Butch Cassidy, WC, George Clinton, Snoop Dogg, Boss Hogg, Damone, Lady Mo, Kokane, El Debarge, and guest production by Dr Dre & Soopafly.
1. "Intro" has a real mellow beat sounds like some good smoke beat type stuff. This just gots Warren G talking and introducing his boy Damone who spits a tight freestyle type verse.
2. "Lookin At You" has a nice symphonic style beat with some piano and effects going on in the background. Some good Dr Dre production on this beat he always comes tight on the beats. This track features Toi who sings the hook and she sounds like Macy Gray and I wasn't feeling her on the hook at all, they could have done something better than her singing. Warren G comes real tight on the flows on this track though I just wasn't feeling the hook but the beat and Warren came tight.
3. "Here Comes Another Hit" this has a tight beat its some real laid back ride to stuff. This track features Nate Dogg & Mista Grimm. Nate Dogg does the hook and its a tight one always comes good on hooks. This track also features Mista Grimm who appeared on Warren G’s older album and I wasn't really feeling his verse but Nate Dogg and Warren came tight and the beat was tight as well.
4. "Somethin To Bounce To" has a old school type beat sounds like some old dance floor shit from the 70s real laid back tight beat. This track is produced by Soopafly and he spits a verse on is as well and he comes tight as well good stuff by him. Warren shines nice on this track as well he does the hook and spits some good verses.
5. "This Gangsta Shit Is Too Much" has a mid tempo style sort of a symphonic feel to this one again. This track features Butch Cassidy and he is just like Nate Dogg he is good for the hooks. Warren G spits some good verses on this track too and Butch handles his business on the hook pretty good track overall.
6. "Pump Up (Skit)" skit about getting some youngen to blast on some fools.
7. "Young Locs Slow Down" has a mid tempo style beat kind of a futuristic feel to it on this one. This track features west coast vet WC and Butch Cassidy is on the hook once again. WC comes real nice on this track good to hear him. Warren comes good on his part as well another decent track right here.
8. "Speed Dreamin" has a funky west coast party type beat going on to it. This track features George Clinton & Mista Grimm. George Clinton did work on the hook on this track and Mista Grimm came much better than he did on his previous verse. Warren G came tight on this track very tight track to ride to.
9. "Sassy Ways" has a real laid back type beat sounds like some stuff from the mid 90’s tight beat. This track features Snoop Dogg & Nate Dogg. Nate Dogg goes the hook and he sings a verse as well good stuff by him. Snoop Dogg comes with the first verse and its a pretty good verse on his part. Warren finishes the song off and does it nicely pretty tight track overall
10. "Deez Nuts Part II (Skit)" a funny little skit might wanna check it out.
11. "Aint Nothin Wrong With You" has a tight beat some nice kick back pimp type stuff with some scratching in the background. This track features Mista Grimm, Boss Hogg, & Damone. Mista Grimm comes real tight on this track was feeling his verse. Damone came up next and I was feeling his verse too good stuff by him. Boss Hogg comes good as well and Warren does the hook and he comes clean as well tight track right here.
12. "Ghetto Village" has a nice mid temp style beat kind of symphonic raise up feel sounds like some video game music. This samples an old Stevie Wonder song and Warren twists it nicely kind of a slower track here but its not bad.
13. "They Lovin Me Now" has a more up tempo style beat has a raise up ride on em type feel going on to it. This track features Butch Cassidy on the hook and then Boss Hogg comes with a verse on this song as well wasn't really feeling his verse but Warren came nice decent track overall.
14. "Streets Of LBC" has a slower type beat sounds like some struggle story telling type shit. This track Features Lady Mo and she does the hook and its decent. Warren G comes pretty good on this track overall just more of a filler track right here.
15. "G-Funk Is Here To Stay" has a mid tempo style beat its sounds like a few beats that have been used before all mixed in one. This track features Mista Grimm & Kokane. Mista Grimm comes real nice on this track and so does Kokane. Been hearing Kokane on a lot of tracks lately, maybe a little too many. Warren comes nice on this track but overall just a decent track.
16. "Keepin It Strong" has a real slow beat has a sort of lets get in bed type feel to it. This track features El Debarge and he sings the hook. This song is a real slow song Warren spits some deeper type stuff on this track if you like slower tracks you may like this.
Overall this album is a step up from his last album but still lacked in a few areas. Its got a few too many filler tracks and not enough bumping tracks. Its got good production and the guest appearances came clean throughout the album. For the most part this is more of a party or kick back and ride smoke a blunt to type music. For the most part this is just another album to hit the shelves but I would go scoop it up because it gots some nice tracks on it just don’t expect it to be super bumping.
