This nigga is from Flint Michigan and has appeared on many peoples albums from Flint--including Dayton Family. This is one of my favorite solo artists and I wish he would get a tight distribution deal. This album right here that I am reviewing has been re-released with a few more songs added. I have the original version so I cant comment on the other songs on the re release. But anyway---the first track is just an intro wit Jake clowning and shit. Up next is "Fake As A Snake Cake" and this shit is ill as fuck, Jake has amazing lyrics----he kicks some dope ass shit to this bad ass beat laid down by Frank G. "Chromotose In The Brain" is really the only song I dont like on this album, its about his lost homies and how he is sick of them dying, it features Sinister Prime.
"Aint No Superman" is next and its crunk as fuck, it is done by Dirty Harry---this nigga gots some tight ass skills, he drops amazing vocals on this track--its been a while since I have heard a song that was this solid lyrically wise. "Streets Is All I Know" is a solo by Jake the Flake and he drops some nice vocals to a descent beat--this song is pretty tight. Back to the dope shit "Money, Mack, Murder" is next and its tight as fuck---Bone starts it off and drops some really nice vocals, he is followed by Jake The Flake and he is droppin some shit that is crunk as fuck--talking bout slanging and shit---I really love this verse by Jake----the song is topped off by Dirty Harry who drops a really nice verse. This is a great song.
"Paybacks A Mutha Fucka" is a song that everyone should peep, he is kickin some real ass shit bout paybacks---it features some amazing vocals by Jake---who always comes correct on the vocal tip. Sinister Prime is up with a solo next "On The Edge" and this shit is tight as fuck also, he is kickin some dope shit to this really crunk beat by himself. The next song features Gemini X who is in jail right now---he is a well known figure in Flint---it also features Jake The Flake who starts off the song which is called "Bouncin To A Murder" and mane if you havent heard this shit you gotta----Jake comes more then correct on this cut---very tight song and the beat is off the hook-----this is a classic song.
"Them Niggaz Lucky" is my favorite track on the entire album he is droppin some tight shit here. He is talking bout niggas that got lucky in the day from fuckin wit him----its a very lyrical song----he drops some really nice shit as he tells his stories in this track. The song is laced ever so nice with a beat by Sinister Prime. I think this song is off the hook and you will too. The last track is called "Good Fella's" and this shit is pretty tight---it features snippets of the movie Goodfellas---it features Bone Skanless who starts it off droppin a really nice and Frank G lays down a really nice beat.
Overall this album is perfect. I recommend everyone to pick this up or the rerelease which has all these songs plus 4. I gurantee you will bump all the songs with the exception of maybe one. I really hope Jake can get a distribution deal for his new album Mr. Jakafella---if you see his shit in the store pick it up----you will love it and help this nigga come up to the nationwide label. He is one of the last good lyrical rappers that actually raps about something.
