Dez is outta Jackson Mississippi and is part of the group Hellborn, he take a solo route with this cd. If you dont have the Hellborn album you should grab that cuz its tight as fuck. The first cut is called "Blunt Smokin" and it has some flowing ass vocals by Dez and a nice lil beat, it is probably one of the best tracks on this album. "Hard Times and Headaches" is coming up next and its more of a laid back track, he aint kickin no really fast vocals or anything, he just droppin some smooth vocals to this laid back beat, its an alright track but nothing all that tight.
"Let's Go Get'Em" is track 3, this song reminds me of the murderous type of shit they had on Hellborn.....I aint really feelin the beat on this track but the vocals are straight as fuck, the beat fucks the song up though. "One Shot One Kill" has a really funky kind of beat to it which I have never heard on a rap track before, Dez kinds switches his style up on this track, he almost has a Koopsta Knicca twist to his voice, I really cant get into this beat though which really makes me mad cuz I would love to hear this flow on a tight beat cuz he is flowing his ass off.
"Dirty Game" is a track bout people gettin in the game and not knowing whats happening on the real, he is saying bout all the fucked up shit in the rap game...He kicks some tight flows but once again the beat is kinda weak, it just sounds like some Nintendo type of beats. "GripTrip" is track 7 and it has another horrible beat....he could really use DJ Finesse to drop him some dope beats....His flows on this track are kinda lackin as well though so a good beat wouldna did him any good. Coming up next is "Choices" and finally we get a straight beat, Dez drops some nice laid back vocals to this beat---this is one of the better tracks on this album.
"Ballin Playa" is up next and it has a bumpin ass beat, almost sounds like one of those old Hellborn beats, Dez comes really tight on the mic on this junt here, this is exactly what I was expecting the whole album from him, that straight killa shit---hopefully his next junt will be like dis here. "Untouchable" is another murderous type of track that Dez really rips shit on, the beat is decent enough to allow Dez to get the fuck off on---another dope track. The last track is called "Jealosey" and its a solid track, the beat is a little different but Dez's vocals make up for it.
Overall I was really disappointed with this effort from Dez, I guess its really not all his fault, he came tight on the mic throughout the album, he just needs to spend some more time with the beats because his flows are there. If you can find a copy of this junt for cheap you should swoop it up because the 3-4 tight tracks on here are really tight....Hopefully Dez will come out with a new album with some bumpin beats or better yet another Hellborn album
