This has to be the greatest compilation album ever, No Limit put this out right before they blew up and a lot of people still sleep on this album, I really don’t know why because this is No Limit at its best. This shit features a gang of underground artists from the south at the time. It starts off with Dayton Family “Stick N Move” which is a very solid track, the beat is very tight and the vocals are really tight as well.
“Fuck Dem Niggaz” is next up by Eightball & MJG, this cut has a really tight beat and dem orange mounds niggaz on the mic drops shit like heinz, thick as fuck---they come hella tight up on this track. One of the classic songs of all time is next up, get your trunk ready for dis here, “Playaz From The South”---mane this song is off the hook, it features Bun B, Pimp C, Master P and Silk-----every single one of these kats come tight as fuck on this song, its probably the one of the top 5 cuts No Limit ever put out. Chico & 187 are up next with “A Lot Auh Nuttin”, this is a really chilled out cut that has a really tight laid back beat, both these cuts drop nice vocals on the mic.
“Cant Trust No Man” is basically a diss to Luniz for them talking shit on Master P, he takes their beat and Mia X raps to it, this is back when she was raw as fuck, this is another tight cut. Joe Blakk is next up with “Way Down South” and this is another tight down south cut, this is some straight gangsta shit---great fuckin song. “Hustlin” is track 8 and it has a very laid back beat, this is a song that you can chill to and roll to, it features C-Murder, Master P and the Partners In Crime---everyone comes tight on this track, especially C-Murder.
P.K.O. Is on the next cut “Got It Sowed Up”, this is another really solid cut, mane so far all these cuts are off the map. Basically all these singles are these independent solo artists best cuts and it shows. The classic Tre-8 and Master song is next up, “Fright Night” and woah if you aint heard this shit something is wrong with your ass, both Tre-8 and Master P flow there assses off on this track. Skull Dugrey is up next with “Darkside” and this is one of the only cuts I really don’t bump but its still straight. That black ass nigga C-Loc is up with the classic cut from his Whatever album, “Who Am I?” and this song is off the hook, if you got a system in your car you will bump this shit none stop, the vocals are off the chain as well.
Magnolia Slim is next up with “You Got It” and its another bumpin ass track, the vocals are hella tight as well, he is better known as Soulja Slim now, but he was a lot tighter back then. The last track on disc 1 is called “RIP” and it features CCG from Kansas City and Master P. CCG flows fast as fuck, that group is made of Cisco and Court Dog, this is a slow cut but features some fast flows by CCG and a low ass bass line.
Disc 2 starts off with another classic cut “Bounce That Azz” this is one of the only dance type of cuts I like, but actually its lot more gangsta then dance, it feaures Gangsta T, King George, Silk and Master P…everyone brings some of their dopest shit ever on this cut----this track is fuckin amazing. Next up is Coop MC with his single “My Woman” and it’s a laid back cut, you gotta listen to the lyrics to appreciate this cut. This nigga named Fire is up next with “Getting High” and this shit is off the hook, very tight vocals this nigga here has.
20-2-Life and PSK-13 are up next with a remix of “Backstreets” and I wsa dissappointed with this cut, the original version on Up 4 Parole is a classic cut but the beat on this track is whack, the content is still tight though. Mr. Serv-on is next up with “Handle Your Business” this song is dope as fuck Serv-on brings some really tight shit on this track, everyone will love this track. Polo is on track 20 with “Down South” and this is a bumpin ass track with some straight gangsta vocals, very tight lil song.
Sir True is next up with “Don’t Underestimate Me”, I don’t know what happened to Sir True but this nigga is hella tight, this song is one of my favorite cuts on the album, he comes with some dope ass lyrics on this cut. A slow cut is next up that features Tre-8, Mia X and Master P “So Much Pain” even though this shit is slow its fuckin tight, all three of these niggaz come too dam hard on this track and the beat is off the hook. Next up is that nigga ESG with “The South” and this cut is another really solid cut, this cut basically introduced me to ESG and made me start buyin his shit.
“Murder Weapon” is next up by Hounds From Gert-Town, this is the only group I aint heard from since the release of this album, but this song is very solid and some straight gangsta shit. Niggas Out The Ghetto is next up with “G’s Stay Real” which is a very solid track. The album wouldn’t be complete without that nigga DJ Screw and Point Blanks “My Mind Went Blank”, mane this is one of my favorite screwed cuts—if you aint never heard screwed shit this would be a good song to start with.
Overall this is easily the best compilation ever, every song on it is off the hook. To all the No Limit fans of today that think they are gangsta, you need to buy this shit to understand how tight Master P and No Limit was back when they were making real music and not that commerical bullshit they make today, that music they make today aint rap music, its pop. This is a must have for everyone, the whole south is represented very well on this album and dam near all the artists on this album has blown up and are still in the rap game.
The last track is by Improper Lifestyle again, its called “Pasadena Brothers” and its a pretty solid track, nice song to end the album on. Overall this is a descent compilation at the best, it has a few tight cuts but nothing that is just off the map and is a must have. I wouldnt recommend anyone to pick this album up, unless you find it for bout 2 bones and then it is still suspect.
