This album was a complete shock to me, the Memphis Veteran DJ Jus Borne did most of the producing on this album, its basically his compiliation. It starts off with a normal intro, just talking and shit. "Where We From" is the first real track and it features Mista Ian and Tela---its a pretty tight cut, Mista Ian and Tela both drop nice lyrics to this laid back beat. Up next is Gangsta Pat with "Dont Trust Nobody"--he is rappin slow on this cut, its alright but really nothing that special. After that is a crunk ass cut "When It Gets Right Down 2 It" it says its by Blackhaven, but 2 niggas rap on this cut, i think it might be a 2 person group--but anyway the song is really tight, very original and nice beat.
That nigga Gangsta Blac, Mista Ian, and Krycez are up next with "Ten Toes Down" and this song is tight as fuck, everyone drops crunk ass lyrics especially that nigga Gangsta Blac-he is too cold on this cut. Skinny Pimp is up next with a remix of "Dem Haatters Gonna Be Hot" and this song is alright but I dont like this beat he got on this one though, the lyrics are straight though. After that is "Freaky Love" and its some nigga named Seldom Seen-he drops some tight lyrics and has a nice lil style to him but its a love/sex type of song which aint tight--but he kinda can rap fast-he has some potential. "My Own Bag" is next up and its done by Money Maru, this nigga sounds just like Indo G, he has a tight style to him, its a smokin song and its pretty nice.
Mista Ian is up next with his 3rd performance on this album, its called "Soulja Fest"--I aint really feelin this song that much, his solo album is crunk but this doesnt show his skills on this track. Lo Key from the Hoodlums in Houston has a solo cut next with "Ballin All Day" and this song is really tight, very laid back ballin cut-very nice lil jam. "Real Niggaz Know" is up next with Al Kapone doing the rappin on it, he drops nice lyrics and a very chilled beat--I have heard alot better from him but this is such a chilled cut you cant help but to like it. Da Prophet Posse is up next-we thats what they tell you at least-really its only Project Pat, Kaze (Scanman & MC Mack) and Indo G with "Step Up Run Up" and its a pretty tight-Project Pat starts off with a whack verse, he is followed by Scanman ripping shit up like he does, then MC Mack comes in with a really fast verse--very nice verse, then Indo G finishes the song with a really fast verse. This song is very nice--reminds me of the old Prophet Posse shit.
"My Bad" is by Kryces and its bout him not wanting to get into it over a bitch, its straight but nothing I ever listen too. SMK is up next with "Gangsta Walk 2 Thousand" and its actually alright, I am so used to not liking SMK but this shit is pretty nice. "IAN V Me" is up next and its another appearance by Mista Ian and its his best song on the album by far-its a really nice cut. The last cut is "If You Don't Hustle" and its by Truama and its a really laid back cut, nothing special though....Overall this album is alright, it has some bright points like the song with Gangsta Blac and the Prophet Posse song..There is a few other really nice tracks also. But it is something you can do without but if you are a Memphis rap fan you probably should pick it up but if your not--you can do without it.
