This is 2-11 first's album, he is outta Memphis and you might know him from his long lasting guest appearances over the years with Kingpin Skinny Pimp, actually they made an album together last year..This album drops on Icy White which was the same label that Lil Ced dropped on back in the day. The first cut is called "Lay The Fuck Down" and it has a very rough and rugged beat and 2-11 comes hard on the mic, he is really getting wild on his vocals, I really aint feelin this yellin stuff he is doing but the content of the song is tight.
"Out Tha Frame" is coming up next and it has a really tight beat and some tight vocals by 2-11....he is kickin some straight gangsta shit on here, if you arent familiar with 2-11, he dont rap fast, he has that classic slower style gangsta rap to him. "Strong Will Survive" starts off with a weak ass unoriginal chorus that loses my interest from the get go, the song isnt much better then the chorus. Following this is "Tha Take" is a rough and rugged cut with some really wild vocals, 2-11 is basically yellin his verses out on this track, I really aint feelin it at all, the beat is aight but I really cant get over his vocals. Swavee who is a female comes tight as fuck on this track though, she can drop some fast ass vocals, Lil Ced also comes hard as fuck on this cut, I just wish they would have started the song out instead of 2-11.
"Ghetto Gangsta" is track 6, the rappin doesnt start on this track for bout the first 2 minutes and when it comes in it is pretty soft, the beat isnt really that solid either. "Who Tha Realist" is comin up next and its tight as hell, 2-11 comes tighter then tight on this junt...its one of the best tracks on the album. "Like Ah Gangster" is next up and mane this junt is off the hook, its one of those tracks with a chorus that is just flat out amazing...the beat is soo smooth also, I can bump this track over and over again, 2-11 comes really tight on this track by making his vocals a little faster and actually rapping on beat...the production on this song is on point. Some other kats rap on this song with him, I dont know who it is but he is really tight.
"U Ain't No Killa" is the 3rd tight ass track in a row, they all the sudden switched up their style on this album and these last 3 tracks are off the hook, this beat is off the hook and the vocals are dat on dat. Swavee that flowing ass female rips shit up on this track along with 2-11 and K-OS who is a really dope rapper. "Hater Laugh" follows this and it features that nigga Kingpin Skinny Pimp and its another tight track, its a very original track that I am really impressed, Skinny Pimp comes hard as fuck on this track, it reminds me of his old shit, the beat is off the hook.....mane Skinny really rips shit up on the 3rd verse, he rips the shit outta DJ Paul and 3-6 mane, it has to be one of his best disses towards them.
"Faces Of Deaf" is back to reality, its like the first 6 tracks on this album which werent all that good, it has that rough and rugged style...the lyrical content and delivery is alot better then those tracks and the beat is descent. "Neighborhood Kingpin" is coming up on track 13 starts off with Lil Ced droppin a really nice verse to a laid back beat, the rest of on cut is pretty nice also. "Hard Hitters" has an uptempo beat to it with Z-Dog starting it off, I really aint feelin the beat, it is very different, the beat goes slower and faster, it starts off slow at the start of each verse and gets faster towards the end of each verse, Z-Dogg, Swavee, Lil Ced and 2-11 all rap on this track.
"Ice Cold Connections" starts off with a really nice beat and then it switches up to something that isnt all that....if they would have changed like 1 thang to the beat it would be tight, I aint feelin these yellin vocals by 2-11, I know that is his style but it dont fit these beats at all. The last track is called "Trate'N Azz Bitches" and it features Mr. Slicc and Kingpin Skinny Pimp....this track must be old cuz it has Mr Slicc old style on it.....Lil Ced starts this track off with a straight verse, he is kickin straight pimp shit to a laid back beat, Slicc comes in next and comes tight lil he used to...you will really be able to tell how old this cut is when you hear Skinny Pimp rap mane, he sounds soo young on this track, he comes tight on it also.
Overall this album suprized me, it was alot better then I thought it would be, I know on alot of songs I said they werent good but this album has 5 bumpin ass tracks that will have good replay value...that doesnt seem like much but compared to all this other garbage that has been droppin for the last 2 years its pretty good...If you are a Memphis rap fan and a Gimisum fan I suggest you grab this album, you will really appreciate their output on this one here.
