This is Z-Ro's 4th album, his last 2 have been somewhat disappointments in my opinion just for the simple fact that his first album is soo tight. The first track on this album is called "Whats My Name" and its tight as fuck, it has a really solid beat and Z-Ro really shines on this junt, he is singing and doing alot of shit he used to do back in the day.....he does say on this track that his worst album was "Look What You Did To Me"....he is trippin sayin that on the real. "Look At Me" is coming up nex and its a straight track, the beat is solid and the vocals are tight, the repetition of the words 'look at me' is kinda annoying.
"Mirror, Mirro On The Wall" is up next and its not that tight of a song, the beat is really weak, his lyrics are straight but this beat really fucks the entire song up. "All Night Long" features Billy Cook and D.P., its a very laid back track with a beat I really cant get down wit, its like a Sunday morning type of track, I just aint feelin this song at all, the whole vybe of it to me is jacked up---I really aint tryin to hear this type of a song from Z-Ro. "Still Standing" features Lil Flex and Big Mello....its has an old school beat that is pretty tight, Lil Flex comes really tight on this track as well as Mello and Z-Ro....this is a really bumpin track that mixes old H-Town stuff with new.
"Sunshine" features Lil Keke...its another laid back type of track, they talkin bout tryin to find something good while in the hood...its a really solid track, Z-Ro drops some really nice vocals to a decent beat and Lil Keke comes solid on this junt also. "How Does It Feel" is track 7, I really cant get down wit the beat on this track, it just is a little too uptempoish or something, Z-Ro does his best tryin to make the song good by droppin a really nice chorus on this junt but he aint able to save it from this whack ass beat.
Black Mike and Pharoah feature on this next junt called "Dirty Work", I cant get down with this beat either, it is totally the wrong style beat to have Pharoah do a feature on....Pharoah does drop a tight verse on this shit along with Black Mike and Pharoah, I guess I can look over the beat because of the tight vocals. "Still In The Hood" AHHHHHHH, another recycled ass song.....at least I made it to song 9 this album without hearing a recycled song, this one aint bad though like some of the previous albums he had redid songs, I can still bump out to this junt cuz its such a nice track.
"RIP" is track 10 and its basically a dedication to DJ Screw, its a really tight song and Z-Ro drops some great lyrics on this track, the beat is also really solid as well, I think everyone will love this track here. Up next is my favorite track on the album, its called "Hard Times" and it features Trae from Guerilla Maab, its a really deep track that both him and Trae rip shit up like they did back on their old shit....well Trae still rips shit like this on the everyday so its normal for him......but like Tosin had mentioned it seems like whenever they get on a track together anymore it brings out the most in both of em, I really agree with him on this point and wish they would do a few mores songs together because this song is just soo damn tight.
"Life Is A Bitch" features Billy Cook, its a slower style track talkin bout how fucked up life is and shit, its a pretty solid track to kick back and reflect to. The last track is called "Shelter From Da Storm" and its another tight track, the beat too a little while for me to get used to but I love it now, its probably one of my favorite tracks on this album, Z-Ro drops some really solid shit on this track and the content of it is really solid as well. He kicks some reagae shit on this track also.
Overall this is a really solid album, I was very criticial of his last 2 albums and I finally get to hear something that I am somewhat satisfied with. The beats on this album are a huge improvement from the last 2 junts and his content is steering away from that bling bling bullshit which I am really happy bout. I suggest that yall go pick this junt up cuz its bumpin and for surely gonna be one of the best junts of the year.
